After using my completed pedalboard for a year, I decided that it was time for a change. I had made the initial pedalboard far too complicated. There were too many points of failure, and boy did they like to remind me of that by failing. So, I decided it was time for a change; it was time to go digital. Here is the story of my new gigging pedalboard…….
As Epiphone are celebrating their 150th year of making instruments, what a great time for me to show off this 2004 Epiphone Explorer!
The Explorer is a model of guitar introduced in 1958 by Gibson. Later on after using Epiphone to produce more budget friendly versions of Gibson guitars, the Explorer was added to Epiphone’s roster of guitars.
This particular Explorer from 2004 has an interesting story behind it too!
When April rolls around, so does the new 23.04 version of Ubuntu Studio!
Ubuntu Studio is a GNU/Linux distribution created for creatives, including; Musicians, Video Creators, Graphic Designers, Authors, Photographers and Artists, as well as other digital creators. It bases itself on Ubuntu which itself is based on the rock solid Debian.
Here are my initial thoughts on the latest version of the distribution 23.04 ‘Lunar Lobster’, as well as a quick tour of the desktop and some of its programs.
Well it’s taken about 11 or 12 years but here I am finally completing and perfecting my pedalboard!
Join me as I dismantle the board how it has been for a while, clean it all up then add the final pedals to it to create my ultimate pedal board. This is my main (only) board that I use for gigging, recording and general guitar playing.
I mostly play Rock and Metal, but can easily adapt these pedals to play pretty much any style, so I see this is an all rounder pedalboard.
It’s October, and you know what that means! It’s time for the .10 release of this years Ubuntu Studio!

Everyone loves a good music festival in the summer. Guess who loves them the most though? That’s right, the bands that perform at these festivals!
I was lucky enough to play at a load of music festivals this summer with my band Lost Era. So, I decided to vlog my experience of playing at some of them.
Join me on my trip through the festival gigging scene!
Lost Era are: Garry Cornelius – Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitar Adam Thomas – Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals John Miles – Bass Guitar Jay Cornelius – Drums
8th and final song of the set – Free Bird, originally by Lynyrd Skynyrd – From our gig at Chiddfest 2022!
Specifically the guitar solo (and what a fun solo it is to play)!
There are some technical issues with one of the cameras and the sound for the first verse, but it smooths out as the video goes on.
Thank you to all those who attended Chiddfest to see us and all the other great bands that were there too!
