A First Look at Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS ‘Jammy Jellyfish’

Here is the latest version of the creative and multimedia focused GNU/Linux distribution: Ubuntu Studio, version 22.04 LTS ‘Jammy Jellyfish’.

Ubuntu Studio is a great distribution if you want to work on: Music/Audio Production, Video Editing/Production, Graphic Design, Photography, Writing, Illustration and Publishing, as well as other art forms.

This is an ‘LTS’ version, meaning it is a Long Term Support release, so it will receive updates for longer than a standard release.

Here are my initial thoughts on this version of the distribution, as well as a quick tour of the desktop and some of its programs.

New Gear Day – KMA Machines Silicium Fuzzly Bear

One of the last two pedals I need to finally complete my pedal board!

If you’ve been following the channel for a while, then you might remember that I bought an Eric Johnson Fuzz Face a few years ago; well I managed to cause it to have a lot of noise problems after unsuccessfully modding it, and needed a different, easier to manage Fuzz pedal for my pedal board. I initially planned on getting a Fuzz Face Mini, but couldn’t decide which one I preferred as every video I watched seemed to give me a different favourite. So, I decided that the only thing to do would be to go and try them out myself, and after months of trying to find anywhere near me that stocked them, I ended up trying different fuzzes out instead. It was a fight between a few different pedals, but overall this one impressed me the most!

Once my pedal board is complete, the next step will be to do proper reviews of all of my guitar pedals!

Gear used in this video: Fender Stratocaster, Fuzzly Bear, Marshall JVM210H into a Blackstar 4X12 Cabinet.

Ubuntu Studio 21.10 codename ‘Impish Indri’ is the penultimate release of this distribution before the next Long Term Support release; 22.04 LTS!

Ubuntu Studio is a GNU/Linux distribution aimed at creatives, both professional and enthusiast. They package their distribution with software for: Music/Audio production and composition, Video production, Graphic Design, Photography, Writing, Illustration and Publishing and all other kinds of visual and audio Arts.

In this video I will be highlighting some of the new updates to the distro and the software in this particular version.
